Week 7




Industriation and Art




1. Define the Industrial Revolution and Industriation.


Industrial Revolution refers to the earlly history of industrial capitalism, namely, the completion of capitalist production, handicraft workshop to the machine from a large industrial transition stage. Based machines gradually replace manual labor, to replace the individual large-scale factory production factory production and manual production of a technological revolution, and later expanded to other industries empty.


2. Research Monet's painting ' Impression Sunrise' (1873) to analyze the work in relation to Industrialisation.

4. Research the project to identitify the artist's intentions, as well as the site (space or venue) chosen for the project, to provide depth for your answer.


Olafur Eliasson borns in Iceland, Denmark, growing up mostly in the cold bleak northern part of the climate and natural environment through the atmosphere, which influenced his creative future content. Sunlight, rainbow, water, fog and other natural phenomena in his works occupy an important place to modern science and technology to create situations like really illusory. His work transcended the traditional 'watch' Art of the way, the viewer must go to experience immersive experience, the human perception is often at his time was triggered inspired by the natural man to lead the viewer into the situation created by the artist the colored and color world.

Mostly the present art work has been involved with the abvent of new technology as well as in the Monet's painting work,namely ' Impression Sunrise' in 1873 which tried to propagate the evolving spatial environment in French.Although this work propose in the aspect of abstract and objective art, audiences can imagine to industialise city easily. Moreover,as it is implicitly abstract, the artist possibly propose something more which exceed audiences' imagination in the aspect of art and industrial evolution.

I agree with you about industrial revolution.It start from the 18th to the 19th where major changes happened in agriculture, manufacturing, mining, and transport.That effected on the socioeconomic. Monet's picture is part of this period. The main colors in'Impression Sunrise' are gray and orange. He is creating luminance in orange sky contrasting to grey clouds.
